KALB-TV (NBC) News Channel 5/CBS 2 News in Alexandria, Louisiana, is looking for an on-air Meteorologist/Reporter to join our weather team.

Candidate will provide forecasts for on-air broadcasts and TV website. Must be proficient in creating weather computer graphics, live coverage of severe weather events, and possess the ability to field report and write news packages.

This position also includes providing weather reports for our partner radio stations and webcast updates. College degree, preferably in meteorology, required.

The successful candidate will work well under pressure and must be willing to work a variety of shifts including, nights, weekends, and early morning hours. Knowledge of Baron weather systems, ENPS newsroom computer program, and digital editing helpful.

Job Responsibilities: KALB-TV (NBC) News Channel 5/CBS 2 News is looking for a Content Manager/Managing Editor. This full-time position includes assisting with the day-to-day newsgathering efforts of our organization. Duties include: News story development, leading news editorial meetings, copy editing news stories, scheduling staff, managing the assignment desk, updating website content, and producing newscasts, as needed. This is not an entry level position. A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a newsroom environment required. Must be proficient with digital, video news editing systems. Knowledge of ENPS newsroom computer system preferred. Other requirements include knowledge and understanding of media law and ethics, proper grammar and punctuation skills, along with the ability to work well under deadline pressure. Experience producing daily newscasts and extensive news writing skills required. Must be willing to work irregular hours, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
