Ulysses (Uly) Carlini Jr. - General Manager, Hastings, Nebraska.
Mr. Carlini began his broadcast career in 1974 while working for his father at KNOP-TV an NBC Affiliate in North Platte, Nebraska. He served in many capacities learning the business of television literally from the ground up. After graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1985, he accepted a sale position at KNOP-TV and became Local Sales Manager/General Sales Manager in 1990. In 1994 he became General Manager of KNOP-TV. A year later he was instrumental in licensing a second station in the market,
KIIT-TV a FOX affiliate. In 1997 he accepted the position General Manager
of KHAS-TV in Hastings, Nebraska.
Lewys Carlini - General Manager, North Platte, Nebraska.
Mr. Carlini has been in broadcast television his entire career and with the same NBC station. His career with KNOP began in 1978 at the age of 13! He has learned the broadcast industry from the ground level in every department. He began directing newscasts and producing commercials in 1982. In 1992 he became the Production Manager. After two years as PD became the Operations Manager. In 1998 he became General Manager of KNOP and KIIT, a low power FOX affiliate. He continues to direct newscasts when needed, produce commercials and most importantly sell advertising time while managing the stations.
Christopher Sehring – General Manager, Sioux Falls, SD
Prior to joining Hoak Media as general manger of the company’s three South Dakota television stations, Mr. Sehring served as VP/General Manager of New Vision’s KOIN-TV in Portland, OR and as RVP/General Manager of Clear Channel Television’s WKRC/CinCW duopoly in Cincinnati, OH.
A native of Columbus, Ohio and graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, CT, Mr. Sehring began his broadcasting career as an account executive with Telerep in New York City. He has subsequently held various sales and sales management positions at TV stations in Columbus, Phoenix, Albany, and Denver.
During his career, Mr. Sehring has also been actively involved in a wide range of professional organizations including TvB’s Sales Advisory Committee, the CBS Local Affiliates Advisory Board, the Ohio Association of Broadcasters’ Executive Board, and Rentrak’s Media Research Advisory Board.
Charley Johnson - General Manager, Fargo, North Dakota
Charley Johnson has been reporting news in the Red River Valley since 1972, when he graduated from Concordia College, in Moorhead. He anchored nightly television newscasts in the Fargo-Valley City market from 1975 until late 2007, when he gave up newsroom responsibilities to concentrate on station management. Charley had also served as News Director at KVLY-TV, the NBC Affiliate for eastern North Dakota and Northwestern Minnesota, until be became GM in 1997.
Charley and the management team at KVLY have been responsible for operation of KXJB-TV, the CBS affiliate in the market, since April of 2003. The two stations have shared the same facility since early 2004.
Dick Heidt - General Manager, Bismarck, North Dakota
Mr. Heidt has spent his entire electronic media career at KFYR-TV in Bismarck. He began working as a producer, reporter and photographer in 1969. He became the news assignment editor in 1976 and was named news director in 1979. He served in that position until October of 2004 when he was named general manager of the operations in Bismarck, Minot, Williston and Dickinson. He attended the University of North Dakota and the University of Mary and has a degree in Media Studies from the University of Mary.
Randy Stone – General Manager, Grand Junction/Montrose, Colorado.
Randy has been involved in broadcasting since high school. He began in radio – taking weekend and holiday on-air shifts in North Alabama. After obtaining his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Alabama, he was back in radio working as both a News Director and salesperson in Tuscaloosa at WNPT. Randy moved to Huntsville, Alabama as Sales Manager of WAAY radio – then to TV with the launch of Independent station WZDX. He was named GSM as the station picked up the Fox affiliation. Randy moved to Mobile, Alabama as GSM of NBC affiliate/Clear Channel owned WPMI before traveling back to Grant Broadcasting as DOS for KLJB – the Fox/WB affiliate in Quad Cities. Randy served as DOS in Springfield/Decatur/Champaign, Illinois for GOCOM owned WRSP/WCCU before moving to Grand Junction, Colorado as GM.
Tom Pears, III - General Manager of KNOE-TV; Monroe, LA
Tom comes from a family of broadcasters going back to his grand-mother in radio sales and his father in radio and TV management. Tom started at age 13 working for his father at KLFY-TV in Lafayette, LA. There he worked in various parts of production, engineering, and news. After graduating from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA with a business/accounting degree, Tom worked for the Moody-Trotter Company bank in Lafayette, LA as a financial analyst and cost accountant. He returned to TV as a salesperson for the Viacom station in Shreveport, LA – KSLA. Since then, Tom has worked for various companies in sales and sales management positions — most recently with KALB-TV a Media General station in Alexandria, LA.
Michele Godard - General Manager KALB – Alexandria, Louisiana
Michele has worked at KALB-TV since 1993 beginning her career there as the weather anchor for News Channel 5’s morning show “Jambalaya”. Her experience in the news department includes time spent in the position of General Assignments Reporter, Education Reporter, Evening News Anchor, and Executive Producer. From 2002 until 2009, Michele was the News Director. Under her leadership, the KALB-TV News Channel 5 newsroom won numerous state awards, including Associated Press recognition of the stations coverage of major disasters like Hurricane’s Katrina, Rita and Gustav.
In the sales department, Michele spent two years as an Account Executive giving her the experience of both news and sales. September of 2009 Michele was named General Manager of KALB-TV, which operates the NBC and CBS affiliates in the central Louisiana area.
Born in San Francisco, she spent much of her early years growing up in Brentwood, Los Angeles and attended college in Boston, Massachusetts at Emerson College.

Terry H. Cole – General Manager, Panama City, Florida
Mr. Cole began his broadcast career after graduating from The University of Oklahoma and serving four years in the United States Army. He continued in the U.S. Army Reserves for seven years and left the service with the rank of Major. In 1988, he started in television sales at KCBD in Lubbock, Texas. After four years, Mr. Cole obtained the position of Sales Manager at WTAP in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He stayed with Benedek Broadcasting until 1995 when he went to work for Gray Television in Panama City Beach, Florida. He served as Sales Manager for a year. He then went to WRBW in Augusta as Sales Manager in 1996. Mr. Cole returned to WJHG in Panama City Beach as General Manager in 1997. In 2003, Gray Television moved Mr. Cole to KOLO in Reno, Nevada to serve as General Manager. Later that year, he was sent to Wichita, Kansas as General Manager of KAKE, KUPK, and KLBY.
